Sean's grandmother, Mrs Porterfield, came for a visit on Saturday.
Aunt Diane and Uncle Luther and Aunt Jenny came too!
It was a beautiful autumn afternoon. We had chicken and rolls and vegetables and a chocolate cake and creme brulee (the latter Sean made for my birthday -- soooo divine!!!). Grandma is 95 and does not travel very much any longer. We were so blessed that she was curious enough about the new house to make the trek. A few pictures are posted in the gallery.
Marlene and Sean getting ready to go out yesterday for her birthday.
Each cat has it's own personality. Ours likes to make sure he can see us. He doesn't always want to be held or petted, but he likes to make sure he can keep an eye on the other two-legged cats in the house (me and Marlene).
I was working on the computer last night and the cat climbed into this shipping box that is on a storage rack in my office. It's about 3 feet from my desktop and gives the cat a good view of his human.
Let me see if this works, I am going to attempt to post before and after pics of the hutch Sean and I picked up at a discount furniture store (in the asis section) a couple of months ago.
while tilly was here in september she helped me add another coat of paint.
i finally got it finished last weekend and put away about 5 boxes of the good china, glassware, platters and thing-a-ma-jingies that had been mostly in boxes since the wedding
the hutch doesn't really go with our dining set, but sean said i could paint it.
ended up going a bit safe with white and a pale blue (not even really visible) interior which for now plays well with the kitchen cabinets.

This is for people looking to vote for Obama. Please do some research on your candidate. He speaks well. He looks good, but his politics are going to kill our country in the long term.
