Investing Kitty

Cats are so funny to watch. I turned on the TV set in my office and kitty was absorbed with CNBC.

Mitzi

Well with the new house comes another new addition. We picked up this little guy, a 2-3 year old domestic short hair, from animal control today. His is currently scoping out the house and hopefully will settle in nicely. He is a very affectionate kitty, but needs to aclimatize to his new home.

I am sure we will have dozens of pictures for you once he settles down.

Billie Jeans Grasshopper Grill Gastonia, NC

Now that we have a new house in a new city, we have to find out about the local restaurants. Billie Jeans Grasshopper Grill is an American Fare restaurant located on Union Road about 10 minutes from our house.

Marlene had a steak salad and I had a half club with potato soup. We also had fried pickles. Service was quick and the food was fine. It was your typical American Fare. Price in the $8-12 range.

Addition to the fleet

Our Honda Accord was stolen the third time from the parking lot at Providence Square Apartments. This happened the day before we were moving to the new house. Just another added stress to go with everything else that had been going.

They found the car about a week after Easter. Our insurance company dedcide to total it, so we had to find something else. Marlene was in various rentals cars for almost four weeks. BTW, I cannot saw enough about Priceline for car rentals. It is a great way to get cheap weekly rentals.

Anyway, so we had to wait to really start shopping until Sean came back from Elizabeth City. We were basically looking for something that Marlene liked and could l drive daily to and from work. She really enjoyed the two Hyundai Elantra's she had used as rentals. The 2007/8 models Elantra is a very nice car. Very much like a new Honda Accord in styling and handling. It also comes with more standard features. We also liked the value that the Kia Optima represented. Kia has come a LONG way from their econbox days. The Optima has some very very nice standard features.

We ended up with this Corolla. It did not have half the features of the Kia or Hyundai, but it is a car that we can feel comfortable owning for 10+ years.

Charlotte Area Transit System

This is a link to a great article about the Charlotte Area Transit System. We just spent over half-billion dollars on a new, 9 mile long, train set. In my opinion, that money would have been better spent on developing cross town routes and doing road improvements.
